Sheridan Man Arraigned on Sexual Assault Charge

A not guilty plea was entered by Jerek Ferguson to the charge of first degree sexual assault. District Court Judge Ben Kirven scheduled trial for October 21, 2024. A pretrial conference will take place September 24 at 10 am in District Court. Ferguson’s bond was continued under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Circuit Court. The charge stems from an incident on July 24, 2021, when Ferguson allegedly caused sexual intrusion on an individual without their consent and while that individual was physically helpless. The crime of first degree sexual assault is punishable by not less than 5 years and not more than 50 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Ferguson is scheduled to go to trial in District Court on September 16, 2024 for a separate, unrelated case where he’s been charged with first degree sexual assault for an alleged crime that occurred on September 2, 2023 in Sheridan County.
