Jo Co Commission, EMC Discuss Fire Prep

Johnson County’s Commissioners and County Emergency Management Coordinator Jim Cataline discussed what his office is planning to do to assist the fire districts with preparations for the upcoming wildfire season.

Commission Chair Bill Novotny said his understanding was that County Fire Warden Tom Camino was considering enacting a partial fire ban in the county on Monday, June 24 and asked Cataline how he would assist him in getting information out to the public.

Cataline said he has a good working relationship with the fire districts and National Weather Service, and is confident that he has the resources and ability to work with these agencies to deal with whatever may come up as we move into a dry summer season.
