Bear Lodge Resort in partnership with the US Forest Service, Wyoming Game and Fish, Powder River Basin Trout Unlimited and Backcountry Hunters and Anglers are sponsoring a Kids Fishing Day at the Bear Lodge Resort Pond.

During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Game and Fish Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt, spoke on the event that has changed locations.

C. Schmidt

Bear Lodge Resort is located off of U.S. Highway 14A and 14 at Burgess Junction.

Schmidt said families are invited to attend. Children aged 13 years and under who are Wyoming residents do not need a Wyoming fishing license. However, non-resident children 13 and under must have an adult with a valid Wyoming fishing license on-site.

This event is free. Participants should be prepared for fishing and mountain weather by bringing their own fishing tackle, rain gear, layered clothing, snacks, coolers with ice for transporting fish, sunblock, and insect repellant. Fishing rods will be available for use by children who do not have their own.

There will be great prizes for the kid’s participating  during the event and a Game and Fish fisheries biologist will be on-site to answer any questions children and adults may have.
