One teen from the Crow Indian Reservation was killed and another injured in a single-vehicle rollover that occurred just inside the Reservation boundary.

The Montana Highway Patrol says just after 8:30am this past Saturday (May 18th), the 2 were traveling in a vehicle on Montana State Highway 384 about 1 ½ miles east of Hardin, when the 18-year old male driver from Garryowen, drifted the vehicle off the right side of the road, while traveling around a curve.

The driver over-corrected, which caused the vehicle to slide off of the right side of the road, rolled over an embankment and eventually came to a stop in the Big Horn River.

An 18-year old female passenger from Lodge Grass died, and authorities say neither person in the vehicle was wearing their seatbelt.

Neither person has been identified by the Patrol, who do not suspect that alcohol, drug use or excessive speed were a contributing factor in the crash.
