Seven seniors completed the graduation exercises on Sunday, May 19 at the Arvada-Clearmont School. Superintendent Chase Christensen introduced the graduates, William Betz, Braelin Burton, Michelle Campos, Willow Harriet, Trevor Martinez. Treylah Smith and Kamryn Michelena.

Betz and Michelena performed the National Anthem on flute and trumpet.

Salutatorian was Betz, and he talked about high school days from freshman up to senior, and he thanked the parents, teachers and staff for helping them all achieve this goal.

Michelena was the Valedictorian, she talked about decisions everyone makes every day.

She added that her roots were faith, family and knowledge, and she talked about each one.

The AC Branding Iron Tradition was performed, with Senior Michelena handing over the branding iron to Junior Dellana Michelena. Each year the class colors of each graduating class are tied to the branding iron, and it is passed on the junior class.

Monica Tiffany, who was the FFA advisor at ACHS, talked to the students about when she first came to take over the ag teacher position from Lynn Latham.

She also talked about life lessons.

“Your futures are before you, and you have the opportunity to change the world, if you so choose,” she said.

Superintendent Christensen presented the diplomas to the graduates, tassels were turned, and caps thrown in the air. Arvada-Clearmont seniors are now ready for the next stage in their lives.
