At the Tuesday, April 9 meeting of the SCSD#2 Board of Trustees the board heard several recognitions. Brandon Finney, business manager and Kristie Garriffa, assistant superintendent, recognized the administrative assistants and paraprofessionals who work in the schools,

Finney said that Administrative Assistants are “The glue that hold the schools together, and keep us running and the wheels turning.”

Garriffa added this about the para-professionals.

Two athletes were awarded WHSAA Good Sportsmanship Awards for their sportsmanship at the SHS vs Natrona County High School on January 26 basketball games. Ethan Evans and Lexi Johnston. Maya Heide could not attend the meeting, but her award was for good sportsmanship at the December 14 basketball game, SHS vs Natrona County. In his superintendent’s report, Superintendent Scott Stults talked about the upcoming graduation this spring, and why there will be a change there.  He said a survey was sent out asking parents if they would prefer Sunday, as has been done in the past, or if a Friday graduation would be better.

He said that graduation this year will be Friday, May 24 at 4 p.m. He added that the WHSAA will change in 2025, and the Friday graduation would not be an option then.

Director of Facilities Troy Decker reported on some improvements that are being done, including the continuing work on the Fifth Street greenhouse. He said he was looking forward to using the greenhouse to grow some vegetables for the SCSD#2 lunch program.

He also presented a bid for a John Deere Tractor for the schools in the district, and the board approved the purchase of the tractor.

Stults, Garriffa and Rebecca Adsit reported on their visits to the schools along with a summary of the PTO in SCSD#2. Trustee Wayne Schatz added this comment.

Adsit talked about the school calendar, saying that in 2025-26, spring break will be set to coordinate with the college.
