According to the Sheridan Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Sheridan County is one of more than 1,000 Chamber leadership development programs throughout the United States. The program is designed to challenge and prepare individuals from diverse backgrounds to become influential in determining the future of Sheridan County.
The incoming class for 2024 will undergo the Orientation Retreat Thursday, Jan. 18, and is the 30th class of Leadership Sheridan County.
Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Program Development Director Teresa Detimore has experienced first-hand the experience and lessons learned in the year-long course.
She told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse the friendships made during the course have been long lasting, created by a bond of shared experience and fostered by like-minded goals.

The program, like many aspects of leadership, requires commitment. According to the Chamber, the program consists of a retreat, seven full-day modules, and an overnight trip to Cheyenne spanning the nine-month time period. Program participants must attend the retreat and a minimum of seven out of eight regular modules to be recognized as a Leadership Sheridan County graduate.
