cvannoyCraig Johnson, local author the popular Longmire series, each year shares a Longmire Christmas short story with audiences at various venues throughout the area. Johnson said that this year’s readings are about half over, but he said there are about six more readings coming up before Christmas.
He talked about how it began and where the upcoming readings and a book signing will be.
Johnson, who moved to Ucross over 30 years ago, talked about how the Longmire series started.
He said that he did not write the screen plays for the Longmire series. One reason being was that he didn’t want to live in LA, he likes living in Ucross.
He said there are now nineteen books Longmire books out, with number twenty, ‘First Frost,’ scheduled to come out on May 28, 2024. He also has two novellas, and collection of short stories. He said he planned to turn in another collection of short stories, as well as another novella, titled ‘Tooth And Claw.’ “There’s all kind of Walt Longmire on the horizon,” Johnson said.
