The Sheridan County Commission has adopted an Inclement Weather Policy for the county and its employees.

County Administrative Director Cameron Duff explained the new policy and the reason it was needed.

Commissioner Nick Siddle spoke in favor of the new policy.

The policy outlines potential unsafe weather-related conditions, designating the County Emergency Manager to monitor weather information and issue recommendations to elected officials and department heads who will consult with the commission chairperson who will decide if county facilities should close or have delayed openings.

Information will be sent to county staff by group text.
