While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan Community Land Trust Director of Marketing & Development, Chris Vrba, announced an Explore History program that will look a little closer at the history of the Acme Power Plant.
The power plant is located on a site next to the Tongue River. After the power plant component closed, the site served many other industrial purposes. One of the largest concerns regarding the reclamation of the plant is the asbestos within the facility as well as other industrial chemicals. Vrba commented on the hard work of the Sheridan Conservation District to reclaim the area.
SCLT will hold an Explore History program to look back at the history of this site, what it has been used for and what the future holds.
