cvannoyAt a short meeting on Monday, August 7, the SCSD#2 Board heard from Troy Decker about the maintenance staff in the district and their hard work all summer and year around. Trustee Ed Fessler commented.
Kasey Garnhart, activities director at SHS, presented up-coming senior Addie Pendergast with the Gatorade Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year award and talked about her achievements in track during the 2023 season. He said that Pendergast has been deemed Wyoming’s Best of the Best as a track and field student athlete. She swept the sprint events at the state championship, and
In his superintendent’s report, Scott Stults talked about summer school, which started on August 7, and about the board touring the school facilities. He commented on the new turf and lights at the stadium. He said they would do another tour on September 11 to see more of the facilities and more of the new updates. He added that students will start back to school on August 29.
He mentioned two new principals in SCSD#2 as well.
He also commented on the youngsters at the county fair, and a marching band camp that many of the band members attended.

The board also approved the purchase of a new bus mechanics service truck; were updated on the various projects that went on through the summer; voted to deny the application for the Cloud Peak Academy Charter School as the application was received by SCSD#2 after the deadline.
In the audience comments section, Carol Kane of Cloud Peak Academy spoke to the board explaining why the application was late, as she had not been aware of the deadline.
Next meeting will be on September 11 at 6 p.m.
