City Council Considers Adoption of Wastewater System Master Plan

The Sheridan City Council met for their first regularly scheduled business meeting of the month Monday night. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Master Plan Adopted

In March of 2022, the City of Sheridan hired DOWL to assess their wastewater collection and treatment systems and develop a new updated Wastewater System Master Plan to guide the City into the future. In May of this year, the master plan research and development concluded and DOWL presented key findings and recommendations from their research to the City Council during a study session. The Council, at their business meeting Monday night, adopted the new master plan. City Utilities Director Dan Roberts.

The City Council also gave third and final reading approval to an ordinance for a franchise agreement with Visionary Broadband. The franchise agreement establishes a 10-year term, with automatic renewal in successive five-year terms unless 180 days written notice is given by either party in advance of an expiration of the existing term. The franchise fee in the agreement is for  three-percent of gross revenues from the specific services provided by Visionary Broadband.
