After more than 50 years, a popular Sheridan pizzeria and restaurant among other things, will close its doors.
Ole’s, located on Coffeen Avenue, has announced that Saturday, September 30th will be the last day of business.
The place has been open since the early 1970’s and has endured its share of good and tough times.
Co-owner Iku Bennett got involved about 22 years ago, and her husband worked some for the previous owners before then.
She says now that her son has graduated high school, it’s time for her and her husband to move on to the next chapter of their lives.
She adds aside from all the food she has helped make and serve, she also helped make and has seen many memories.
“We’ve got probably thousands of employees over the years and then many more before we came around. It’s been a great run hearing about all the memories that they have over their generations of families. It is sad to put an end to all of that, but it’s our time to go.”
Bennett says Wyoming Downs Off Track Betting will eventually move its operations into the Ole’s location.
