Johnson County OKs Hiring of Library Staff

The Johnson County Library came before the county commission at their meeting this week to ask for permission to hire a new employee.

Library Director Steve Rzasa explained the reason to the commission.

Rzasa said there was a position in the current budget, but with projected shortfalls it was decided not to hire the extra person.

The library has been running with seven employees instead of the traditional eight that have been on staff.

After discussions between Rzasa and the commissioners concerning part-time and full-time staff and expenses for each, the commission approved the hiring of two part-time employees which would give Rzasa additional options for staff scheduling.
