The building that houses the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum in Buffalo was originally built in 1909.
Through generous donations and no small amount of work, additions have been added over the decades but it’s the original front entrance that currently needs some tender loving care.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Jim Gatchell Museum Director Sylvia Bruner said the entrance is beautiful but has suffered damage.
Johnson County’s Board of Commissioners has stepped up, but Bruner said the museum needs a little more help to complete the maintenance.
The match for donations to the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum will continue until Aug. 31. There are multiple ways to make a donation.
