Historic Jail is receiving some TLC this year

With spring comes construction. While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan County Commissioners Lonnie Wright and Allen Thompson spoke on the construction that is taking place on the exterior of the historic 1913 Sheridan County Jail.

Earlier this month, the Commissioners awarded a contract for architectural services for the interior rehabilitation of the historic jail to MOA Architecture of Casper.

According to Thompson, the interior is still utilized by the county for administrative offices. 

That contract specifies that MOA will provide an assessment of the rehabilitation needed on the interior to restore woodwork, wood flooring, and historic elements to improve functionality for current government offices housed in the building.
