Almost everything for the home and lawn were a part of the 2023 Big Horn Home Builders Home and Garden Show that was held over the weekend April 21-23, at the Ramada Plaza.

Whether one is starting from the first step of finding a home and a neighborhood to start a new life in, or redoing an older family home, there was something for everyone at the home show.

Booths ranged from real estate companies and banks, to landscapers, plants, home lighting to food from Yoder’s Country Market and cutlery and kitchen accessories.

If one needs to spruce up an old house, or clean-up after construction, there is Bob’s Super Clean. To better serve their customers, Bob and Darlene Mortensen, owners, have recently updated their equipment.

“I have a new piece of equipment that we purchased first of year to improve our ability to do carpet cleaning.”

Bob talked about the updated machine and how the equipment has evolved over time.

He said that the unit could be used not only for carpet cleaning but for hood cleaning and power washing as well. “It creates good pressure and good heat and good suction. We’re really happy to have it. I think it will be a good addition to our equipment.”

Mortensen added that they recently put it to the test on hood job at a ranch near Buffalo, “We had plenty of water, and plently of what we needed for heat.”

Another vendor at the show was the Habitat for Humanity, that builds houses and has the Restore Store that sells a variety of items for the home.

Kendel Nicholson of the Restore Store said it is doing well. She added April was fund raising month, and there will be drawing for several prizes, and every little bit helps. Raffle tickets are $20 and prizes include a round of golf for 4 at the Powder Horn; a week’s stay at the Cabin Creek Rentals in Dayton and a Milwaukee Tool Loadout bag from Bloedorn lumber as well as others.

What is a home without a pet? The Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter was there with some adoptable dogs that are sure to please any dog lover. The animal shelter also has many cats that are available for adoption.

Cindy Popp and Rockie and Hannah Edwards

Rockie is up for adoption. He a heeler/lab mix with “lots of energy,” Popp said. He is 8 months old, neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and gets along well with men, women and other dogs, but it is unknown how he would interact with children, and he would ‘probably not’ get along with cats. He is still a puppy and would benefit from some puppy training.
