Even with the weather worse than usual this winter, Monday, March 27, was the first and so far only snow day of the year for SCSD #3.

Superintendent Chase Christensen explained.

Wyoming snow storms tend to run on their own schedule, and often they either come early or later than the forecaster says. Christensen explained the main reason they have avoided having to declare too many snow days, and why they had to call one this Monday.

He said that the virtual learning came out of the Covid school closures, but added why it is a good tool for snow days.

He said due to the fact that SCSD#3 has a four-day school week, the snow day would probably be made up on a Friday, likely in mid-April, instead of having a snow day make-up after school lets out for the summer.
