cvannoyThe Third Annual Quilt show at the Clearmont Historical Center is being held throughout the month of March, which is National Quilt Month.
Sandy Hirz, Clearmont Historical Center, said that as of March 2, there were over 50 quilts this year, which is nearly double the number of previous years. There are old quilts as well as quilts made today.
This year they are on display on newly installed rails in the museum in the back room of the center, as well as in the front room. There is also track lighting to enhance the quilts in the back.
Hirz said that some people have brought in several items, and she thought that there were probably around 30 quilters represented. Most are from around the Clearmont area, but some come from Sheridan as well.
Robert Prusak, President of Historical Group, put up the rail and the lighting. There were several different types of quilts on display, including a 100-year-old ‘Yo-yo’ quilt.
Another quilt was made by Jodene Prusak, of Ulm, using t-shirts from her youngsters, who played on various Clearmont sports teams.
Drop by the Clearmont Historical Center all month to see a selection of interesting and colorful quilts made by area quilters.
