Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bisett recently reported a number of drug arrests that have taken significant amounts of various drugs off the streets, some more dangerous than others.

He talked with Sheridan Media about the arrests, how the drugs could affect the community, the types of drugs they are seeing, and what his department is doing differently.

He explained how officers have made more drug arrests in recent months.

Bissett was referring to an incident where an officer responding to the call eventually arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant and the subsequent investigation led to the seizure of more than 1,300 Fentanyl pills.

He said officers being more aware and having that “sixth sense” that something isn’t right is paying dividends with these types of arrests.

Another positive is the cooperation between agencies in Johnson County.

Bissett talked about the in-house Cellebrite Mobile Forensics technology that allows the police and sheriff’s department to investigate cell phones or other digital technology in less time than having to send them to Casper or Sheridan, which is helping immensely in drug investigations.

We will have more on our conversation with Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett in upcoming stories.
