Ron RichterThe 67th Wyoming Legislature convened in Cheyenne this week for the General Session that is expected to last approximately eight weeks. Part of the session will be the consideration of Governor Mark Gordon’s supplemental budget proposal. Wyoming has $913 million in surplus in its General Fund and Budget Reserve Account. Governor Gordon, during his State of the State Address this week, said the budget is critical.
Gordon, while addressing the Legislature, said he’s proposed an additional $1 million in his supplement budget to extend the property tax refund program for another year and he urged legislators to support that request as well as to consider other means to deal with property tax relief.
