U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), ranking member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, sent a letter to Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Jennifer Granholm calling for a thorough review of the department’s security clearance processes. The letter was sent in light of recent felony theft charges brought against a senior DOE official.

Barrasso previously sent a letter to the DOE in July asking for specifics on the department’s vetting and granting security clearance processes. According to information from Senator Barrasso’s Office, that letter has not received a response. In the letter this week, Barrasso stressed that it’s in our national security interest to properly vet executive branch officials. He requests the DOE launch an investigation into their own security clearance processes and report the findings no later than February 1, 2023. The full letter and questions can be viewed here.

“Barrasso stressed that it’s in our national security interest to properly vet executive branch officials.” Then what happened when #45 slithered into the people’s house? OIC…depends on if they have the almighty “R” by their name.

I am all for pursing justice against those who broke the law. But where was Barrasso’s concern about theft and malfeasance concerning the numerous corrupt Trump officials such as; Kellyanne Conway, Peter Navarro, and Ivanka Trump all accused of violating the Hatch Act; or Tom Price, Scott Pruitt, Ryan Zinke, Ben Carson, and Steven Munchin all accused of excessive and illegal office expenses and travel costs often times involving military assests? Get real Barrasso it is impossible to take you seriously now after you marched in line with Trump.

When can I expect an investigation into Sam Bankman-Frieds failed FTX cryptocurrency exchange, and the money that was allegedly laundered through the Ukraine and back into bidens, mcconnells, and others campaign pacs? Fried made what madoff did look like childs play, yet he still walks free. How is that possible?

I’ve worked in the Federal government and participated in the process of Fed security procedures. They are pretty dang good. Can’t say the same for elected politicians.
