Johnson County’s Commissioners discussed an issue with the the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Greater Sage Grouse Plan that they have been a part of since its inception.

According to Commission Chair Bill Novotny, the BLM has been forced to re-examine the Sage Grouse Plan for the state of Wyoming and asked for the commission’s approval tpo be part of that process.

He explained further.

Novotny said the permission to participate will allow him to attend more meetings and write more letters on the subject on behalf of the county.

The remaining commissioners agreed to allow the signing of the MOU, saying it was vital to keep an eye on, and that it could become an economic disaster for the county by ignoring it.
