Like too many organizations in the Nation, the Sheridan County YMCA is experiencing staff shortages.
The Sheridan County YMCA has full time and part time positions for lifeguards, custodians and camp counselors.
According to Executive Director Liz Cassiday, every position at the Y is vital and valued. The lifeguard position will include life saving training and community involvement.
The custodial positions come with less life saving responsibilities, but are just as important, especially in a gym setting, Cassiday said.
Camp counselors serve an important role in a child’s life. Cassiday told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse that the times have changed, and one of the most difficult aspects of a counselor’s job nowadays is helping children find their place in the outdoors.
To find more information on these critical positions at the YMCA, visit the Sheridan County YMCA at 417 North Jefferson St. in Sheridan, or call 307-674-7488.
