Mayor Greg Rohrer reads the proclamation about Municipal Clerk’s Week

The Clearmont Town Council met on Monday night, April 18, and Mayor Rohrer read two proclamations, one was declaring April national child abuse prevention month. He played a short video presentation about child abuse prevention, and the about Bounce Back, which is a group intervention program for elementary students exposed to stressful and traumatic events.

Rohrer also said there was information on the website if anyone wanted more information on Child Abuse Prevention Month.

He also read a proclamation about the 53rd Annual Professional Municipal Clerks week, May 1 through 7, to acknowledge the work that the clerks do. The week was initiated in 1969 by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

The upcoming town election discussed, and the town hall will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 3 for voting.

The council also voted to donate $500 to the Clearmont Day Celebration to be held on June 18.

On May 16 there will be a budget work session at 5 p.m., and a liquor license hearing at 5:45, the regular meeting will follow at 6.
