cvannoyThere is a new project at the University of Wyoming, and they are seeking information from the Sheridan Community. The program is titled Profiles in Wyoming Resilience, and Jean Garrison, program co-lead stated that they have reached out through various municipalities and groups with the same request.
The purpose of this project is to ask a wide range of Wyoming residents to share their voice and perspectives so that they can get a better picture of the opportunities and barriers that Wyoming citizens face to academic achievement, employment, and community resilience.
They want to gather photos (with accompanying descriptions) in order to create an interactive website with profiles of Wyoming communities using these photos/perspectives provided by people in the community.
One must be over 18 to participate, and due to privacy concerns, photos should not show people that are identifiable. Garrison said they hope to paint a robust picture of each community to create resource that people and leaders can use.
She added this information on how to participate in the Project.
Photos/descriptions can be shared from your phone or PC directly through this short Qualtrics survey at https://uwyo.sjc1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7UkKAn37xxSefyu.
One can see their website (uwyo.edu/wallop), as well. Other ways to share photos, include: Flickr, social media including Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn, and by email to wallop@uwyo.edu. The website includes an informed consent form that we need in order to use your photos.
Garrison went on to say in the news release, “We also have weekly informational webinars, every Tuesday at 5: 30 and Wednesday at 12-noon, through March 16th and a recorded webinar is available here: https://youtu.be/vCA10NxyQm0. It would be great if you could add these webinars to your event calendars as well.
“We also are happy to meet at your convenience (probably virtually at this time) to answer questions or to help people participate. I can be reached at wallop@uwyo.edu or 307-766-6119. If you would like further materials, such as sample photos or social media posts that you can share out to your networks, please let us know.”
She added, “Thank you so much for your help sharing this information out through your networks! I hope to hear how we can help you and other community members participate in this project.”
