Jett Barnes of Visalia, Calif., 15, had a memorable night in the American Sprint Car Series stop to Sheridan Speedway Sunday. He set the track record in qualifying with a lap in 13.787 seconds (this is estimated going 99 mph on the frontstretch). He ended the night, winning the 25-lap feature with only one caution starting from the outside pole position.

He said the track was awesome and technical. Barnes, who has been racing for 10 years and in his first year behind the wheel of a sprint car, lapped several cars in the feature by making several sliding moves. This was his third ASCS National Tour start and he became the second-youngest feature winner in Series’ history.
