Sheridan Tactical Demonstrates Executive Protection and Search and Rescue Training

Sheridan Tactical recently gave more than 65 invited guests a firsthand look at its plans for a
reality-based training center in Sheridan County.

The private event featured three coordinated, live-fire executive-protection exercises.
The first simulated the evacuation of a VIP from a restaurant during a threat. The second
demonstrated how security personnel protect and move a VIP to waiting vehicles. The third
simulated an ambush on a VIP motorcade. During that exercise, the security team moved the
VIP from a disabled vehicle to a working vehicle.

Sheridan County Search and Rescue personnel also demonstrated a vehicle-recovery operation
in steep, rugged terrain. Team members removed a simulated casualty from a vehicle involved
in a staged rollover in a ravine.

The exercises demonstrated the importance of practicing critical skills in realistic settings before they’re needed during an actual emergency.
Sheridan Tactical founder Nir Pe’er says plans for the facility include year-round training
partnerships with law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services, and search-
and-rescue organizations.

Pe’er says the company is also developing courses to help civilians respond to emergencies and
modern security threats in schools, churches, businesses, and other public places.
Future plans include confined-space rescue training, a firefighter smokehouse, and emergency
scenarios involving heavy and agricultural equipment. The facility also plans to offer active-
shooter response training, a tactical shoot house, vehicle extraction, and accident
reconstruction.

Sheridan Tactical also intends to establish a Wyoming-based certification school for tactical
executive protection. The company plans to seek approval that would allow eligible veterans to
use GI Bill education benefits for the training.
The project could provide an economic boost for Sheridan County. Specialized courses could
bring students, instructors, and participating agencies into the area. That could generate
additional business for local hotels, restaurants, and other service providers.

The Pe’er family also owns Sheridan Tactical Paintball Fields, located on a separate part of the
property. It features four paintball fields known as the Tire Field, Berm Field, Car Field, and “TheWoods.” Sheridan Tactical hopes the combination of professional certification, civilian preparedness, andrealistic training will establish Sheridan County as a regional destination for public-safety andsecurity education.
