Red Grade Road Construction Project Expected to begin Mid-June

The Bighorn National Forest Service is alerting the community to the construction project on Red Grade Road/Big Goose Road 26, expected to begin the week of June 15. 

According to the Forest Service, this is a U.S. Federal Highway Administration and Sheridan County‑led project. During a May 18 preconstruction meeting, officials said they are planning temporary closures during construction.

The following details are subject to change:

• Closures are expected from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Equipment and materials have started mobilizing to the project site.

• Surveying is planned to begin around the first week of June.

• Traffic control is expected to be in place the week of June 15.
