The Festival of Trees: Nov. 30

The Festival of Trees is under way in Sheridan to raise funds for Sheridan and Johnson County Special Olympic athletes. 

Special Olympics Coordinator Jarod Martin, Dallas Feaster from Easterseals and Special Olympics athlete Ellie Gill stopped by Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to talk about the main event.

The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. – event starts at 6 p.m. – Thursday Nov. 30. At the SHeridan Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall. Tickets are $25 a piece, two for $40, or a reserved table of eight for $150. Tables need to be ordered by the morning of Nov. 29.

But for all of her accomplishments, for Gill, it’s not about the medals. It’s about the support of and support from fellow athletes, the opportunity and the thrill of being able to compete and building a community in Wyoming. 

Country music performer Tris Munsick will be providing the entertainment. Food will be hor d’oeuvres and finger foods. Martin said there will be plenty of food to eat. 

Wreaths and other items will be available in the silent auction items as well as a penny raffle with numerous prizes.
