DJ Elchlinger Of Sheridan HS Signs NLI To Play Football At Colorado Mesa Univ.: A Sheridan High School Football lineman is heading to western Colorado to play at the collegiate level.

DJ Elchlinger has signed his National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play football at Colorado Mesa University located in Grand Junction.

This past season for the Broncs, he had 34 tackles, including 6 1/2 tackles for a loss and 1 sack.

He explains what the Mavericks football team saw in him and what he liked about that program.

Elchlinger says he is considering a degree in kinesiology which is the study of human body movement.

He adds the only other school he had been considering was Black Hills State.


Sheridan HS Basketball: Sheridan is preparing for their rematches vs. the Gillette teams this week.

First up is a Friday home game vs. Campbell County, which is one that the girls have had their eye on, ever since they lost to the Lady Camels last month.

The main problem in that first game was first half turnovers, and Coach Ryan Sullivan says the Lady Broncs have cleaned up their act since then.

Friday’s double-header tips off at 5:30pm and Saturday’s games at Thunder Basin start at 3:30pm.


Tongue River, Big Horn and Arvada-Clearmont HS Basketball: Tongue River, Big Horn and Arvada-Clearmont will conclude their regular season this weekend.

TR plays Friday at home vs. Sundance and on Saturday at Moorcroft.

BH is at Wright on Friday and at home vs. Greybull on Saturday.

A-C plays at home vs. Kaycee on Friday and are at home vs. Midwest on Saturday.


Sheridan County HS Wrestling: Sheridan and Tongue River are preparing for this weekend’s regional tournaments.

The Sheridan boys will compete Saturday at the 4A East Regional Meet at Campbell County, and on that same day the Tongue River boys will host the 2A East Regional Meet.

The Sheridan and TR girls will both head to the East Regional Meet on Friday and Saturday at Torrington.


Sheridan HS Boys Swimming: Sheridan will be at the 4A State Meet tomorrow and Friday at Laramie.


Sheridan HS Nordic Skiing: Sheridan will compete at a make-up meet at Cody this Friday and Saturday.


Sheridan County HS Indoor Track and Field: The only meet going on will be the Simplot Games tomorrow thru Saturday at Idaho State University in Pocatello.

Sheridan and Big Horn are scheduled to have representation at that meet.


University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys return to the court tonight as they host 1st place Utah State.

Tip off is scheduled for 8 o’clock and you can hear that game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The Wyoming Cowgirls have the midweek off from competition and will play again on Saturday at Colorado State.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche snapped their 4-game skid, by winning last night at Washington 6-3.

The Avs will conclude their 6-game East Conference road trip tomorrow at Tampa Bay.


Sheridan Hawks Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks play 2 at Gillette this weekend.

The team has 6 games remaining on their schedule and are currently 3 points behind in the chase for the final playoff spot.

The Hawks are back at home on March 1st and 2nd.
