Wyoming Cowboy Football Team To Play In Arizona Bowl: For the 6th time in 8 years, the Wyoming Cowboy Football Team is going bowling and for the 2nd year in a row they’re heading to Arizona.

The Pokes have accepted an invitation to play in the Arizona Bowl in Tucson, Arizona on December 30th vs. Toledo.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30pm Mountain Time.

UW has a 1-1 record in the Arizona Bowl, winning 38-17 vs. Georgia State in 2019, and lost 30-27 in OT vs. Ohio University last year.

Wyoming and Toledo have played each other 2 times, with the visiting team winning each time.

The Rockets won the last meeting vs. UW 34-31 in Laramie back in 2012.

Toledo won the Mid-American Conference West Division, but lost 23-14 vs. Miami, Ohio in the MAC Championship Game.

The Cowboys are 8-4 on the season, while the Rockets are 11-2.


Mountain West Conference Football Championship Game: Boise State defeated UNLV 44-to-20 in the conference championship game on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Broncs removed the interim tag off of Spencer Danielson and made him the head coach.

He had been the teams’ defensive coordinator until Andy Avalos was fired with 2 games remaining in the regular season.


Mountain West Conference Bowl Game Schedule: A total of 7 teams from the Mountain West Conference will play in a bowl game.

Boise State will play UCLA in the LA Bowl on Saturday, December 16th.

That same day, Fresno State will play New Mexico State in the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque.

Three teams will play on Saturday, December 23rd.

Air Force will play in the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas against Division 1 newcomer James Madison University.

Utah State is heading to the Potato Bowl in Boise to play Georgia State and San Jose State will play in the Hawaii Bowl against Coastal Carolina.

The day after Christmas, UNLV will play in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl in Phoenix against Kansas.

Wyoming will round out the Mountain West Conference schedule.


University Of Wyoming Basketball: UW lost on Friday at the University of Portland 81-70.

three cowboys scored in double figures.

Sam Griffin had 17, Akuel Kot put in 15 and Kobe Newton came off the bench to score 14.

The Pokes are back in action tomorrow at home vs. the South Dakota School of Mines.

Tip off is scheduled for 6:30pm and you can hear the game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9FM.

The Wyoming Cowgirls lost on Sunday at Oklahoma State 78-62.

Maren McKenna scored 15 points off the bench to lead the team, while Allyson Fertig put in 14 and Marta Savic had 11.

The Cowgirls were down 18-6 after 1 quarter and never recovered.

UW’s next game is this coming Sunday at home vs. Creighton.

Tip off is scheduled for 1pm.


High School Winter Sports Season Starts This Week: The winter season starts competition this Thursday.

The Sheridan boys and girls basketball teams will play 4 games in 3 days at Riverton.

On Thursday they play Riverton, on Friday their opponent is Rawlins and then on Saturday Sheridan will play both Star Valley and Jackson.

The Big Horn and Tongue River basketball teams are scheduled to play this weekend against various opponents at Burns, while Arvada-Clearmont plays at Upton.

The Sheridan wrestling team starts the season on Thursday at 5pm with a home dual vs. Worland, and afterwards the JV team will take on the varsity squad from Tongue River.

On Friday and Saturday, the Broncs are scheduled to compete at a tournament at Rapid City, South Dakota.

The Sheridan Boys Swim Team will start the season on Friday and Saturday at meets in Gillette, while the Nordic Ski team will race near Laramie.


Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos had their 5-game win streak snapped as they lost at Houston 22-17.

Denver was down 13-zip in the 2nd quarter, and down 16-3 in the 3rd quarter before they got to work on a comeback.

They would drive to the Houston 8 yard line, but then Russell Wilson was intercepted in the end zone with 9 seconds to go.

The Broncos are now 6-6 on the season and next play this coming Sunday at the LA Chargers.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2:25pm.


Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets split a pair of road games this past weekend.

On Friday they won at Phoenix 119-111, then lost on Saturday at Sacramento 123-117.

The Nuggets are now 14-7 on the season and next play Wednesday at the LA Clippers.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche dropped both games this past weekend on the California coast.

On Saturday they lost 4-3 at Anaheim, losing a shootout 1-0.

On Sunday, the Avs dropped a 4-1 game at LA.

Colorado is back on the ice as they start a 5-game homestand on Tuesday.

First up will be Anaheim.


Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks extended their winning streak to 4 games as they won both home games this past weekend vs. Rapid City.

On Friday, the Hawks won 4-2, and won 4-3 on Saturday.

The homestand continues this weekend as Bozeman comes to town for a 2-game set.

The puck drops at 7:30pm on both nights.
