Troopers Prepare for State Baseball / Rockies Beat the Astros

SHERIDAN AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL – The Sheridan Troopers will be the number one seed at next weeks state tournament.

The Troopers ended the regular season winning 12 of 13 games including a 7-1 conference road trip which included winning the final game of the regular season to wrap up the league regular season title.

Head coach Austin Cowen sat down with us last night at Thorne-Rider stadium and says the schedule was tough and he’s so proud of the players for meeting the challenge.

The Wyoming Double “AA” American Legion state tournament opens Monday in Jackson and Austin says they’ll ease their way into game one.

The Sheridan Jets will host the “A” state tournament which will also get underway Monday.

ROCKIES BASEBALL – The Colorado Rockies beat the Houston Astros 4-3 last night, the series will wrap up today at Coors field, first pitch at 1:10 you can hear the Rockies on Smart Talk 106.3 FM.

Following today’s game the Rox will hit the road for a series at the Miami Marlins which opens Friday evening.
