Tongue River (NLI) / Troopers and Home Saturday / Rockies fall at Arizona

TR (NLI) – A recent Tongue River high school volleyball graduate will continue the sport she enjoys at the college level.

Athena Stanton has signed her national letter of intent to play volleyball at Mount Marty University, in Yankton, South Dakota.

The last three seasons she has played varsity for the Lady Eagles and last year she helped them to a 3rd place finish at the 2A state tournament. Stanton says the sport to her can sometimes be therapeutic.

She adds she plans to major in nursing. The Mount Marty Lady Lancers are part of the Great Plains athletic conference within the NAIA.

TROOPER BASEBALL – The Sheridan Troopers won three and lost two at the Memorial day weekend tournament in Gillette, Troops Head coach Austin Cowen says they had a pretty good weekend.

The Troops will play at home Saturday hosting a double header with the Cody Cubs game times will be at 1:00 and 3:00.

ROCKIES BASEBALL – The Colorado Rockies dropped a 5-1 decision at Arizona last night, they play the D-Backs again tonight first pitch is set for 7:40 you can hear the Rockies this season on Smart Talk 106.3 FM.
