Troopers Meet YMCA T-ball Players / Hoop Jam Registration Deadline is Tuesday / Rockies Beat the Marlins

YMCA T-BALL – Some kids may dream about going to the game to see the big boys play, or even join them when they grow up it can also be just as exciting when the big boys pay a visit, Tuesday members of the Sheridan Troopers American Legion baseball team were at the Sheridan county YMCA helping the youngsters in the “Itty Bitty” T-ball league learn some of the basics of the game.

For the Trooper players, it was a chance to give back to the community, especially for those who played T-ball themselves many years ago.

Troops Head coach Austin Cowen says aside from the basic drills such as hitting stance, throwing and running, the best thing that a T-ball coach or parent can do, is continue to offer encouragement.

Games at the Sheridan county YMCA start Thursday, you can see some photos of the T-ballers interacting with the Trooper players later today in the sports section at sheridanmedia.com.

TROOPER BASEBALL – The Sheridan Troopers have won five of their last seven games this weekend they will be on the road for a tournament during the Memorial day weekend in Gillette, their next home date is Saturday June 3rd when they host a double header with Cody game times will be at 1:00 and 3:00.

2023 HOOP JAM – Registration is still open for next weekend’s 3 on 3 Hoop Jam basketball tournament, the event is held outdoors at Sheridan high school, the registration deadline is next Tuesday to sign up a team go to the web site hoopjamwyo.com.

ROCKIES BASEBALL – The Colorado Rockies beat the Miami Marlins 5-4 Tuesday night to take the first two games of their four game series, the series continues tonight with the first pitch is at 6:40, you can hear the Rockies this season on Smart Talk 106.3 FM.
