STATE TRACK AND FIELD – We have more today from the just completed Wyoming high school state track and field championships.
After sitting out of last year’s state championships because of state rules, Sheridan Junior sprinted her way to three state championships this past weekend.
Addie Pendergast won the 100, 200 and 400 meter dash races, and set a new overall state record in the 400.
She last participated in the state meet two years ago, when she was a Freshman at Tongue River, where she won the 100, 400 and 800 meter events.
When Pendergast started going to Sheridan high school last year, she couldn’t compete at the regional and state meet because of WHSAA rules.
Addie said she enjoyed beating the 400 meter state record this year, and was happy she was able to get back on the track at the meet that mattered the most.
Pendergast also finished 2nd in the 300 meter hurdle event at this year’s state meet.
