WRESTLING – Thursday night the Sheridan Bronc wrestlers team defeated Kelly Walsh in a home dual, by a score of 53-25, they won seven matches by pin, one by a tech fall and one by forfeit.

Now the real battle begins as they start duals within the 4A East. The matches that matter are today’s matches at Cheyenne Central and at Cheyenne East, as well as tomorrow’s match at Cheyenne South.

While at South on tomorrow, the Broncs will also dual Laramie, but the Plainsmen are not a part of the 4A East.

Next week the Broncs will finish 4A East dual schedule at Campbell county and at home vs. Thunder Basin.

Head coach Tyson Shatto says the duals against the Cheyenne and Gillette teams have more of an impact compared to all of the tournaments they’ve competed in this season.

And he adds some wrestlers might rematch an opponent they’ve already faced earlier this season at a tournament, and depending whether they’ve beaten that opponent before or not, can either be a good thing or a bad thing.

The Wyoming state wrestling championships start three weeks from today in Casper.

The Tongue River Eagles have duals in Lovell today and a one day tournament in Greybull tomorrow.
