It is with both heavy hearts and warm smiles that we announce the passing of Toni Jeanette Grant, age 85, who left us on Sunday, May 18th 2025. Born at her family’s cabin on May 22nd, 1939 in Betty’s Creek, North Carolina to Maxine & Norton Corn. Toni was not just a remarkable woman; she was a true force of nature, known for her irrepressible spirit, unmatched sass, and an ability to make even the toughest days feel light.

Toni lived life on her own terms. Whether she was passionately pursuing her career as a business owner or leading her family through the occasional well-coordinated chaos, she brought a unique brand of hard work and humor to everything she did. With her infectious laughter and quick wit, she could bring joy to any room, often leaving us in stitches with her legendary one-liners.

Her work ethic was only matched by her love for helping people. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend that took immense pride in her business which in turn became her extended family.  She enjoyed cooking, her flowers and spending time in the garden which was always lush and vibrant.

Toni is survived by her son Ricky Morton, daughters Cindy Morton & Linda (Justin) Hossfeld, sons Scott (Debi) Grant and Billy (Stephanie) Grant. Siblings Bruce (Leona) Corn and Kathy (Ron) Schwab, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with a legion of friends who cherished her humor, strength, and downright sassiness. She is preceded in death by her parents Norton & Maxine Corn, daughters Katherine Grant and Tammy Zeigler and Granddaughter Charlie Vine. Her unique brand of love will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In honor of Toni’s vibrant life, her family encourages you to embrace your inner sassiness and spread laughter wherever you go. Celebrate her memory with a good story, delicious meal, and a colorful word of the day.

A celebration of life will be held 11am on Thursday, May 29th at Champion Kane Funeral Home. A public viewing to be held prior to the services at 10:30am and reception following the service.
