Graveside funeral services for Dagmar Sarno, 85-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away Sunday at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo will be held on  Monday, December 16th at 10:00 a.m. in Willow Grove Cemetery with Pastor Larry Sydow officiating.  Donations in Dagmar’s memory may be made to the St. Francis Animal Shelter in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Dagmar Sarno was born to Martin and Amanda Schrader on November 5, 1934, in Altlandberg, Germany where she grew up and went to school. She moved to the United States in 1954 and became a naturalized citizen.  She was married in 1964 in El Paso, Texas to Joseph Sarno and they made their home in El Paso while Joe was in the U.S. Army. After 20 years of military service in 1984, Joe and Dagmar settled in Southport, Connecticut where Dagmar worked at various jobs.  Joe and Dagmar divorced in 1974 and Dagmar continued to live in Southport. Joe moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  In 2015 she moved to Buffalo to once again be close to Joe where he had lived since 2009.  She has been a resident at Amie Holt Care Center from 2016 until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter Tracy Sarno.
