It is with great sadness that the family of Steve Eugene Reed announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the age of 72.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Autumn Scanio (Michael), Stephen Taylor Reed (Samantha) and Drew Reed; brother, Stan Reed; sister, Susan Hayes (Farrell); niece, Lauren Hayes; nephews Reed Hayes, Austin Reed, and Eric Reed.

Born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Steve maintained his southern drawl and appetite for soul food and music. Upon graduating college at Southern Mississippi, Steve found his life’s passion in the wine & spirits industry, which eventually led him to the state of Wyoming. After establishing himself in Jackson Hole, he met his wife, Carol, who he stood beside through thick and thin for 29 years. Eventually settling in Sheridan, Steve faithfully and tirelessly supported his family by traveling to see accounts throughout the state of Wyoming.

Steve’s personality and natural talent to make and keep great relationships fueled his legendary reputation. His inherent self-confidence, unrelenting determination, and humor carried him through everything, except his golf game. A man of many wise words and hilarious stories, he lived to make people laugh, and did so, even when Lewy Bodies Dementia began to take hold towards the end of his life.

Steve was truly a great man, “the best”, whose impact will forever be felt and carried on by the family and friends that love him. His ability to love, cheer, sacrifice, provide, forgive and laugh will forever be lessons and gifts to all he knew.

A Celebration of Life reception for Steve Reed will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the Sheridan Inn. Come share in a toast and storytelling of Steve’s incredible life.

Rest In Peace Steve. It was nice getting to know you over the few years of working in the liquor sales. Thank you for everything you did.

His ability to make us all laugh and “feel good & accepted” was one of his greatest attributes. He was so self deprecating and truly witty with his exaggerated southern accent . He was so endearing to us all. It was a privilege to attend their wedding so many years ago. Thoughts & !love to you Carol and family. Ed & Carol Owens
