It is with much sadness that the family of Terry Robert (Bob) Snowden, Jr announce his passing on April 28, 2025, at the Johnson County Healthcare Facility in Buffalo, Wyoming at the age of 77.

Bob and his family moved to Buffalo from Mariposa, California in 1993 to open and operate the Pizza Factory. Later he went into real estate and was the owner of Coldwell Banker, The Smith Brokerage in Buffalo. Bob was active in the local, state, and national Realtor associations and served as President of the Buffalo Association of Realtors and President of the Wyoming Association of Realtors. Bob also served as Chairman of the Johnson County Republican Party in 2004 and was a delegate to the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City. Bob also served on the Johnson County 1% Committee and was a member of the Buffalo Rotary Club.

Bob’s passion was the preservation of South Pass City State Historical Site in South Pass City, Wyoming. South Pass City was close to Bob’s heart, as his family has lived at South Pass City since the 1870s. Bob was instrumental in the acquisition of the Carissa Mine by the State of Wyoming and its subsequent preservation and restoration. Bob’s great-grandfather, J.J. Marrin, one time leased and managed the Carissa and every summer Bob would stand where his great-grandfather stood and explain the operation of the ore hoist to visitors.

Bob is a Class of 1970 graduate of the University of California, Davis and a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lynn, of Buffalo, Wyoming, his son John (Joy) of Raleigh, North Carolina, and his daughter Christy (Jason) and grandsons Frank and Micha Zaktonik of Pinedale, Wyoming, his sister Valerie (Larry) Webber of Lincoln, California, and his brother, PJ (Robin) Snowden of Los Banos, California and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Terry and Leonore Snowden of Lander, Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bob’s memory to The Friends of South Pass, 125 South Pass Main Street, South Pass City, Wyoming 82520 (https://www.southpasscity.org/support).
