News ReleaseJames (Jim) Paul Adamson 67 lost his battle of cancer Sunday morning January 5, 2025, with his loving wife by his side.
Jim was born in Sheridan, WY on May 5, 1957, and was the son of the late David and Joyce Adamson. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his stepdad John Zak, his uncle Terry Miller, his brother in laws Bob Weaver and Mike Mcneally.

His grandchildren Mersedees, Breeann, David, Mylee, Alexus, Kayden, Codi, Hunter, and Wyatt and his great-grandchildren Izzabella and Royal.
Jims’s childhood he grew up in Dayton, WY until he was 10 years old and then moved to Sheridan. He attended Sheridan High School, but he did not graduate because he left early to pursue truck driving in Kansas City for 2 years, then he moved back to Sheridan closer to family and where it was safe and away from the tornados. He went to work for E&W Standard. In 1976, he started dating Kathy Cunningham for a year and half, and then they finally tied the knot on January 30, 1978. In 1983, he left E&W Standard to go work for Sheridan Iron Works till 1988 then he went to go work for the State of Wyoming Highway Dept. While he was working for the State, he also had a lot of side jobs that he did. Like for Teds Towing them Perts Towing, his brother’s ranch, and then when he had time, he polishes his friend trucks. If you know Jim, he could never sit still, always had to be doing something. He retired from the Highway Dept in 2016 where he still helped his brother on the ranch and if that was not enough, he started his own business J&K Trucking until he got sick.
Like we said before, Jim always stayed busy. He loved work or helping others. When he was not doing that, you could always find him shooting the breeze with a cold beer in his hand, surround with his family or friends. In the summertime, he would be itching to get up to the mountains. He loved fishing and camping. If he was not fishing, he and his brother love to ride the four wheelers where you would find yourself sitting in the creek crossing and here comes Jim full throttle to splash you where you came out soaking wet. When he got the chance, he loved to go to Deadwood and play the slot machines.
We would like to invite you to his Celebration of Life where we would like you to come and support the family and talk about the good times that we had with Jim at the Elks Lodge, 45 W Brundage St. at 2:00 pm. January 25, 2025. In lieu of flowers, we ask to donate to Kathy Adamson CO James P Adamson Memorial Fund at First Bank of Wyoming. To help with Funeral cost.
