Funeral services for Norma Malli, 86-year-old Arvada resident who passed away Saturday at the Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center in Gillette, will be held Saturday, January 4th at 10:00 a.m. at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor John Moreland officiating. Visitation will be held at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Arvada Cemetery, with graveside services to follow the funeral. Donations in Norma’s memory may be made to the Arvada Women’s Club at P.O. Box 81 Arvada, Wyoming 82831. Online condolences may be made at www.harnessfuneralhome.com.
A reception will be held following the graveside at the Arvada Bar.
Norma Carol Malli was born on September 6, 1938, in Sheridan, Wyoming to Gus and Evelyn Malli. She grew up on the family ranch in Arvada and graduated from Arvada High School with the class of 1956. After high school she joined the U.S. Air Force where she worked for IBM serving in Washington D.C. While in D.C. she marched in President John F. Kennedy’s inauguration ceremony. Following an honorable discharge, she returned to Arvada, where she worked for many years in the Arvada Post Office. She also bought her own place, where she ran Hereford Cattle and farmed. Norma continued working in Arvada until her death.
She was a member of the Arvada Women’s Club and was a member of the ASCS Board of Directors in Sheridan. Norma was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was an avid reader and also played darts and enjoyed gambling and playing cards. She is survived by one sister, Donna Hakert and her husband Richard of Buffalo; seven nephews, LeRoy Malli and his wife Kris of Arvada, Gus Malli and his wife Debbie also of Arvada, Steve Malli of Arvada, Curtis Malli of Sheridan, Brandon Malli of Austria, Travis Hakert of Buffalo, and Ken Foreman of Broadus, Montana and three nieces, Michelle Dodds and her husband Art of Sheridan, Christy Wright and her husband Richard of Sheridan, and DeeAnn Smith and her husband Dave of Newfoundland. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Riley and Buzzy Malli.
