Dwayne (Dewey) Longtine, passed away Dec. 7, 2023, peacefully at home with his family and hounds, Ronnie and Lily, by his side after a brave battle with bladder cancer. Dewey was born and raised on the family farm in North Dakota to Kenneth and Kathryn (Fehr) Longtine. He was the oldest of 9 children. In 1972 he married Diane Craig and they had 3 children. Jason, Alana, and Raymond. They later moved to Helena Montana where he owned and operated his auto and diesel repair shop. In 2003 he married Bonnie Aylesworth, adding 2 step sons, Shawn and Jason Aylesworth. Dewey worked in construction, gold mines in Nevada, and coal mines in Wyoming and Montana. He especially loved diesel mechanics. Or as he so often said “twisting wrenches”. After he retired from Sarpy Creek Mine he was always busy restoring many old tractors and working with his mules, Betsy and Annie. He was busy working with them to pull a buggy so that he could drive the buggy to church. He always had to drive a tractor, an old car or pull a float in the Parkman Parade each year. Dewey was a member of the Ranchester Community Church, where he made coffee and greeted everyone on Sundays.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Kathryn Longtine, father-in-law Sam Cross, son-in-law Scott Huck, and grandsons Hunter Longtine, Kody, and Kyle Aylesworth. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children, Jason (Kellie) Blake and Jenna Longtine, Canyon Creek, MT, Alana Huck, Sierra, Watertown, SD. Raymond (Jamie) Bridger Longtine, Lewistown, MT,; sons Shawn (Nikki) Kayla Aylesworth, Philipsburg, MT, Jason (Tamika) Ashlynn, Jonathan, Josef, Rudy, and Julian Aylesworth, Casper, WY; siblings, Connie (Jim) Marshall, Carla (Brian) Tinkham, Loretta Gunsallus, Linda (Jerry) Cordell, Francis (Peggy) Longtine, Larry Longtine of North Dakota. Bernelda (Seth) Toschner, Wisconsin, Jodi Longtine, Newcastle, WY; his mother-in-law Irene Cross, Ranchester, WY; sister-in-law Connie (Coy) Jamie Pepper, Nevada as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 10:30 am at the Ranchester Community Church with Pastor Kent Dempsey officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the church.
Online condolences may be written at www.kanefuneral.com. Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

So sorry to hear of this. Dewey was one of my favorite customers here at Kubota. Prayers for your family in this time.
