Jeanne Ramey

Funeral services for Jeanne Ramey, a 94-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away Sunday morning at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo will be held Saturday, October 7th at 2:00 p.m. at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor Scott Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services to immediately follow the funeral. Donations in Mrs. Ramey’s name may be made to the St. Francis Animal Shelter at 104 Flat Iron Dr. in Buffalo, Wyoming 82834. Online condolences may be made at www.harnessfuneralhome.com.
Jeanne Frances Ramey was born on June 12, 1929, in Columbia Falls, Montana to Claude and Irene Bolick. She grew up and went to school in Columbia Falls and graduated from Columbia Falls High School. In grade school, she played the piano in the school orchestra. After high school, she attended Kinman Business University in Spokane, Washington taking a secretarial course. After Kinman, she went back to Columbia Falls to do secretarial work for her father and a surety company doing work on Hungry Horse Dam which was under construction at the time. She later moved to Spokane, Washington, and worked for an electrical contractor. It was there that she met Homer Ramey who was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. Homer and Jeanne were married on January 1, 1955, and they made their home in Columbus, Ohio where Mr. Ramey was in electronics school and Jeanne was a homemaker. They later had a son and moved to Denver, Colorado. In 1963 they moved to Colorado Springs with their son and new daughter. In 1997 they moved to Buffalo, Wyoming. Homer passed away in August of 2017 and Jeanne continued to live in Buffalo until her death.
Jeanne was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed embroidery and gardening. She was a Trekkie and loved Science Fiction books, movies, and anything to do with outer space. She was also an avid Denver Broncos Fan. She is survived by one daughter Tami Thompson and her husband Scott of Gillette, Wyoming; one son Deon Ramey, and his wife Victoria of Austell, Georgia; five grandchildren, Joel, Jacob, Naomi, Thomas, and Danielle and three great grandchildren, Jamie, John and Lucy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
