Kinskey Comments on HB54, SF50

Over 100 bills to be considered during the upcoming Budget Session are already listed on the State’s Legislative website. Sheridan and Johnson County Senator Dave Kinskey shared his thoughts on Appropriations Committee sponsored House Bill 54 which would give significant raises to the salaries of the highest ranking elected officials in Wyoming.
If the legislation was passed, it would change the salaries for the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Treasurer, Auditor, and Secretary of State from $92,000 annually to $120,000 and take the Governor from $105,000 per year to $150,000. The changes would take effect in 2023. Another bill would change the legal age for possessing nicotine products from 18-21. Kinskey shared his thoughts on Senate File 50.
That file is sponsored by the Revenue Committee and would take effect if passed at the start of the next fiscal year on July 1. To view these bills or browse the other legislation that is on tap for the session next month, follow the links below.
