Governor Appoints Stefan Johansson Director of Wyoming Department of Health

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has appointed Stefan Johansson as Director of the Wyoming Department of Health. Johansson has served as the interim director since May of 2021. Johansson joined the Department of Health in 2013 and has held several positions with the agency since then, including policy administrator and deputy director. His advanced education in political economy and public policy and his experience in the agency have prepared him for the unique challenges facing Wyoming in public health and healthcare.

In May of last year, former Director Mike Ceballos and former Chief Information Officer Gordon Knopp resigned in May after a data leak that involved personal information of over one-quarter of the State’s population who’d tested for COVID-19 and blood alcohol tests dating back to 2012.
