Resolution Amended

The Sheridan City Council held their first regularly scheduled business meeting of February Monday night. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
A blind draw or lottery, and consideration of award of the additional retail liquor license the City of Sheridan received did not take place at Monday night’s City Council meeting due to an amendment to resolution #4021 that was approved by the Council. The City received 11 applications for the additional license that was the result of a population increase reported in the 2020 Census. City Attorney Brendon Kerns said the amendment to the resolution approved by the Council means that the liquor license committee made up of Councilors Shawn Day, Steve Brantz and Jacob Martin will meet again to continue to establish parameters for awarding the license. Councilor Day offered this suggestion following the vote to amend the resolution.
Councilman Aaron Linden offered his thoughts on the parameters being set by the Council as a whole.
The parameters will be presented to the council at their next work session that is set for Monday, February 14. The council also approved the third and final reading of an ordinance to increase the councilor’s salary from $500 a month to $1,000, and a resolution allocating ARPA funding. We’ll have more from the council meeting in future stories.
