Man Who Was Killed in Decker Road Accident Identified

The man who was hit and killed by a vehicle on Decker Road Friday night in Sheridan County has been identified by the Sheridan County Coroner’s Office. At approximately 8 pm, the Wyoming Highway Patrol and Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an accident involving a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. 69-year-old Mark Steven Jefferies was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident that occurred on Highway 338 (Decker Road) near the Highway 339 intersection early Friday evening.

According to Sheridan County Deputy Coroner Shawn Wright, Jefferies was from Virginia and had been in Wyoming for the last year and in Sheridan County since approximately last September. The case is being investigated by the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
