A Notice of Intent (NOI) for changes to the rules and regulations concerning the permitting of commercial solar energy facilities was approved by the Sheridan County Commission during their regular meeting Tuesday.

County Planner Mark Reid explained why the changes were necessary.

The two changes are essentially that the applicant can submit revisions to the application from information coming from the public hearing held by the Planning & Zoning Commission; and that at the conclusion of the public hearing by the Board of County Commissioners, the applicant can request the Board defer action on the application to a future meeting to allow the applicant to submit revisions from the public hearing.

The commission voted to approve the Notice of Intent.
